Through the craziness of schedule changes and back-to-school buzz, SLAMS fifth and sixth graders are getting started on asking the question “how does the Earth change?” We have finally set up our science notebooks where will be documenting our notes for the year. As we explore our earth’s past and how it continues to change, we are learning to think about our Five Core Values and the theme of Community from the lens of scientists. We have learned about inquiry through asking questions and tried out multiple ways to do research including videos, diagrams, and non-fiction texts. We’re looking ahead to ways we can collaborate effectively and answer the question “how does the Earth’s interior shape its exterior?”
