Hello, my name is Stella Viscelli and I go to SLAMS.

In my Humanities class we are working on a project about issues and problems many are facing in the world today. The project I am working on is about Gender Inequality. This was just one of the many outstanding topics that our class is researching. I think why the projects we do here are so awesome is because not only are they educational but they are fun to learn about and they are all different in a outstanding way and I love that. This project is my favorite yet because it will have its own ´Current Events Museum´ where other students and visitor can learn about our topics

To complete this project….. First we studied many issues in our world today, then we formed groups and read many articles. Following this we used the information we learned to create projects. Some projects include large posters, websites, and podcasts.  Each classroom will have a topic theme and be decorated. Hopefully a lot of people come and the school will really look like a museum.

When you visit our school on Tuesday December 18th  these are the exhibits you will see and learn about….

1.)Gender Equality

2.)LGBTQ

3.)Black lives matter

4.)Immigration

5.)Gun violence

6.)Wealth and poverty gap

7.)Climate change

I love all the topics and I think what made me chose gender equality is because in school I always hear boys saying that women and girls are not as smart and not as capable. For example, I hear boys saying that we are not good at sports, they are a better artists and create better projects. This makes me really mad so I hope this project shows everyone that women and girls  that we are equivalent and intelligent.

Hope to see you on December 18th at 1:10 – 3:00. I hope you can go into the holidays knowing that all these issues are in the hands of 10-13-year-olds that plan to influence the world.

Salutations,

Stella Viscelli
