SLAMS students utilize Google Classroom and Google Apps for much of their work here.  Parents and students can access these accounts at home from virtually any device connected to the internet.  Below are some instructions on accessing these tools outside of SLAMS.

On a computer:

Google’s tools can be accessed from any web browser, but we recommend Chrome for the best compatibility.  Access Classroom by going to classroom.google.com and Drive by going to drive.google.com.

Students will need to log in with their school district account.   The username/email is their ID number followed by @philasd.org – ex: 1234567@philasd.org.  Once signed in, they will be able to access all of their Google tools.

On a mobile device:

Classroom, Drive, and the other Google apps are also accessible on most mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.  You can download these apps individually from either the Apple iTunes Store, or from the Google Play Store depending on the make of your device.  We recommend the following apps:

  • Classroom
  • Drive
  • Docs
  • Sheets
  • Slides

Please note that while students can access their files in View mode from the Classroom and Drive apps, they will need the Docs, Sheets, or Slides apps to be able to edit them.

If you have questions about accessing these tools from home, please contact Ms. Martin.
