What do you do with a seemingly unusable, slightly awkward corner in your new office? You make it a Cozy Corner!!

This year I was thrilled to decorate my office space to be a retreat for the occasional student who needed some “down time”, but also for me as well! I shopped my own home for ideas of seating choices and used my obsession with Tiny Homes to make a space people want to be in.

But what to do with that strange corner?

The Learning Maximizer to the rescue!!

Ms. E's Cosy Corner 2

I created the “Cozy Corner” – a place where students can come when they need a place to get away from it all … or need a quiet place to read … or need a safe place to work through some tough stuff.

I’m looking forward to adding to it with soft lighting, a reading lamp, even some sensory squares on the wall!

The amazing thing is that anyone can create a Cozy Corner! No need to have an awkward space either. Just grab a small corner, add some pillows, an old lamp you aren’t using, maybe a blanket and … voila! It’s a cool “project” to do with your kids. And an awesome place for them to to their independent reading!!

So, if you happen to be visiting SLAMS and need a quiet spot … feel free to visit the “Cozy Corner”!!
